After quite a long August of doing practically nothing, with an exception of getting further on my writings and whatnot, I've come to realize that when I quit World of Warcraft about a month ago (also knowing that I would eventually renew my subscription when Wrath Of The Lich King comes out), I did not expect it to be this... well, difficult. I'm not so much addicted to World of Warcraft as I am infatuated with it's expansive landscapes, quests, dungeons, etc. It occurred to me that after I continued playing some other games, why it is that I enjoy World of Warcraft so much. I know that I expressed my love for Pokemon, which I still play often, but WoW just seems to have something more to give. All though a lot of people say that it's cartoonish graphics and sometimes unlikely damage or boss encounters are annoying or stupid, I happen to find that I would much rather play a game that offers me a wider range of abilities and activities with a much more interactive world, than some game that is aesthetically pleasing. What good is this kind of game genre if the only good thing is that you can make your character super good looking, with fabulous clothes or such an intensely detailed landscape, so that you can walk around and make notes about how you can see the difference in colour of the tree bark, or the texture of the skin. I'll take fairy tale characteristics with excellent game-play over pretty faces any day.
After all of that, I wonder... Is anyone even here to read this?
Probably not, but I guess that's all right.
